Experience With Listed Building Projects
Much of our work is carried out locally at Harrow on the Hill and in other local conservation areas. Our experience of sensitive repair and conservation is joined with skills, which integrate new buildings or extensions into the historic fabric and structures of such areas.
We have worked on all categories of listed buildings from repair works to a 15th Century 3 bay house to re-roofing and gutter works to a 1906 Baille-Scott house. Some involve minor repairs, some major conservation and some involve new build alongside the existing fabric. In all cases we try to uphold the beliefs and objectives of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings philosophy of preserving and protecting ancient buildings. Staff are generally members of societies which
seek to preserve and enhance ancient building and education of staff through courses and reading on this subject are actively
encouraged. Members of staff also sit on conservation area advisory committees and other technical panels.
We have an extremely good and fruitful relationship with English Heritage and local conservation offices and this practice is often recommended for difficult commissions relating to listed buildings.
